How the right breastfeeding techniques easily can save you over $1,000 (and dozens of hours) and give you the connection with your baby you’ve always dreamed of.
If breastfeeding is painful for you or your baby is fussy while feeding . . . Read on . . .
Dear Mother,
If you’re experiencing breastfeeding problems the first thing I want you to do is relax, there is hope.
These problems are common (more mother’s experience them than you’d ever imagine) and often very easily solvable.
There are so many reasons why breastfeeding can fail (e.g. Candida a.k.a. Thrush, shallow latch, not so optimal position and more . . .)
My name is Timéa Szalay and I am an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC). I help new mothers to successfully breast feed their babies.
Wherever you’re at in your breastfeeding – I can help.
Why am I qualified?
In the past seven years, I have seen (and successfully helped) over 2079 mothers who were in pain or experiencing a fussy baby or other challenges, and many were already been seen by a nurse or by another lactation consultant.
I spent 3528 hours, (not including emails and phone calls) supporting mothers and drove 143034 kms.
So many mothers I work with fear failure in breastfeeding and fear of not connecting with their new child. And they don’t know what to do.
All new mothers want to feel competent. That you feel you are a MOTHER, you feel loved, empowered, worthy. During the first couple of weeks a mother goes through a whole lot of hormonal changes and at this time we question everything we do. To have a positive experience means that mother and child are happy, bonded and loved.
Nothing means more to a mother than to have her child look up at her with admiration and love. Her heart swells with love and she feels worthy of that love.
This is all especially important when mothers want to breast feed beyond the typical six months.
We are getting more and more research showing us that the benefits of breastfeeding don’t stop at 6 weeks, 3 months or 6 months but continues for as long as baby/toddler is nursing. Benefits of breastfeeding are numerous, it provides immunity, disease protection and prevention but most importantly it creates a special bond between mother and child.
Every day we learn more and more things that researchers find in breast milk. It is just an amazing substance. Formula has its place in breastfeeding. There are some moms who are truly cannot produce enough milk to their baby for various reason. They do need to supplement with the formula. But, formula should never be the first choice in infant feeding.
Little known facts about breastfeeding:
A breast fed baby who has a slight jaundice is a good thing. Bilirubin is an antioxidant and it reduces the risk for childhood cancer. Breast milk has lots of antibodies that can prevent cancer, childhood diseases, obesity etc. Breast milk can give lifelong immunity to certain diseases.
Breastfeeding protect against breast cancer but what is fascinating is that a mother who nurses her daughter provides antibodies to that baby against breast cancer as well.
Breast milk is nature’s vaccine.
My clients are telling me that they have been breastfeeding for an average of 18 to 24 months because of the help they got from me early on in their process.
How breastfeeding can save you money . . .
Also by empowering mothers and helping them overcome challenges they are saving thousands of dollars on formula what they will not need to buy and all the equipment to formula feed.
On average a mother can save approximately up too $1,400 a year when not buying formula

If the baby is getting specialty formula like soy based (which I don’t think any baby should get anyway but some do) or vegetable based the saving can be twice as much.
Bottles, sterilizing equipments, nipples can cost up to a hundred dollar if not more.
How breastfeeding can save you time . . .
Mothers spend dozens (if not hundreds) of hours preparing formula. That’s time spent in addition to feeding the baby.
Consider this: Newborn babies feed between 8 to 12 times or more in a 24 hours period. Which means that a mother need to spend at least 15-20 minutes 8-12 times if not more a day preparing formula, cleaning and sterilizing bottles and nipples.
Why Hire Me?
- I am the only specialist in my area (Upper York Region and Simcoe County) who really can help mothers
- I come to them: If they are still in the hospital I come there or if they are at home I come to their home. This alone is a wonderful thing especially for brand new mothers who just had a Cesarean birth or a traumatic birth and they are in pain. Having a home visit in the mother’s own environment can make a huge different as she is using her own chair, her own pillow and she is not exposing herself or her baby to germs by visiting clinics or hospitals. She is also the most comfortable at home.
- Short Notice Bookings: I am available on a short notice and can see a mother sometimes even on the same day when they are calling.
- Proven Techniques: I teach a kind of latch and positioning that is common sense and can make an immediate difference in your pain and discomfort.
How much does it cost?
You pay a flat fee which allows us a relaxed atmosphere to be able to work - no one is watching the time go by and their bank account empty.
Visits tend to last about 1.5 hours.
