Transformation

I have to thank a couple of people as without their support and guidance this would have not have happened.

First and foremost my children, Daniel, Christian, Thomas and Michael

and my husband, Kalman

My Mother, Irma

My Doula, Mentor and Friend Melissa Cowl

My Midwives, Marcia Rowat and Janice Robson

My Friend, Jean Kouba and Shelly Plewes

My Counselor, Randi Foley,

My educators in clinical breastfeeding Dr. Jack Newman and Edith Kernerman

It is time to move on personally and professionally. Breastfeeding and a holistic lifestyle and holistic nutrition are my passion. I love helping others to achieve their own personal goals. This new name reflects my wisdom that I acquired in these fields but most importantly wisdom that I acquired by being a mother, a wife, a woman, a daughter.  I want to help women with their health, wellness and share my wisdom and of course continue to provide breastfeeding support.

This change will also bring along some other changes. As you will see in the next couple of months my web site will go through a transformation as well. The name and the logo will be changed as well as the background color and some new contents will be added and current ones will be updated or removed.

My web site www.GentleMothering.ca will remain on the internet and my new www.WholisticWellness.ca  is up and working and will be on all new printed material.

I would like to tell you about my new logo that my awesome husband of 21 years drew for me just like my old logo. I choose the lotus flower for a couple of reasons. Let me tell you about its meaning and I am sure you will know my reasons.

“Lotus flowers are amazing and have strong symbolic ties to many Asian religions especially throughout India. The lotus flower starts as a small flower down at the bottom of a pond in the mud and muck. It slowly grows up towards the waters surface continually moving towards the light. Once it come to the surface of the water the lotus flower begins to blossom and turn into a beautiful flower. Within Hinduism and Buddhism the lotus flower has become a symbol for awakening to the spiritual reality of life. In modern times the meaning of a lotus flower ties into its religious symbolism and meaning. It represents life in general. As the lotus flower grows up from the mud into an object of great beauty people also grow and change into something more beautiful. So the symbol represents the struggle of life at its most basic form. Lotus flowers are also popular for people who have gone through a hard time and are now coming out of it. Like the flower they have been at the bottom in the muddy, yucky dirty bottom of the pond but have risen above this to display an object of beauty or a life of beauty as the case might be. Thus a lotus flower or blossom can also represent a hard time in life that has been overcome.”

To me the Lotus flower truly represents my transformation, my life struggles and the wonderful outcome, a new person.
